The Singapore EV Charging Landscape

Singapore is rapidly expanding its EV infrastructure as part of the government's Green Plan 2030 and the push toward phasing out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has mandated that new car parks and major commercial developments include EV charging provisions, leading to thousands of new public charging points across HDB estates, shopping malls, office buildings, and petrol stations.

Singapore is on track to have 60,000 EV charging points by 2030, across both public and private premises. Our map focuses on the publicly accessible network — chargers you can actually drive to and use. Key operators include SP Mobility, Shell Recharge, Charge+, and others. Public chargers are distributed islandwide across HDB estates, shopping malls, and commercial developments, with rapid expansion continuing in Jurong, Tampines, Woodlands, and Punggol.

Pricing models vary widely. Some operators charge per kWh (energy consumed), while others charge per minute (time-based) or offer subscription packages with discounted rates. DC fast chargers typically cost more than AC slow chargers but can replenish a battery from 10% to 80% in 30–45 minutes. AC chargers are ideal for overnight or workplace charging, taking 4–8 hours for a full charge depending on battery size.

Popular EV Models in Singapore

The Singapore market has seen strong adoption of brands like BYD (M6, Atto 3, Seal, Sealion 7), Tesla (Model 3, Model Y), Jaecoo (J6), Xpeng (G9), Zeekr (X, 7X, 009), BMW (iX1, iX, i4), Hyundai (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6), Kia (EV6, EV9), Omoda (E5), IM (LS6, L7), and MG (MG4, ZS EV). Each model has different charging curves and connector compatibility, which is why our filter system is essential for matching your car to the right station.

Charging Networks & Operators

  • SP Mobility — One of the largest networks in Singapore, operating chargers at HDB carparks, shopping centres, and public lots. Pricing is typically per-kWh with no subscription required.
  • Shell Recharge — Found at Shell petrol stations and select retail locations. Offers high-power DC fast charging ideal for quick top-ups during long drives.
  • Charge+ — A growing network focused on residential and commercial buildings, with competitive per-kWh rates and app-based payment.
  • Tesla Supercharger — Exclusive to Tesla vehicles (with limited non-Tesla access at select sites), delivering up to 250 kW for rapid charging.

Coverage Areas

EV Charge Buddy covers EV charging stations across all planning regions of Singapore. Each region has a distinct charging landscape shaped by its mix of residential, commercial, and recreational properties:

Central Region (Orchard, Tanglin, River Valley)

Premium malls, hotels, and Grade-A office buildings host the highest density of DC fast chargers. Prices tend to be above average, but availability is good outside business hours.

East Region (Tampines, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Changi)

Tampines Hub and major malls anchor a growing network. HDB carparks in Bedok and Tampines offer affordable overnight AC charging for residents.

North-East Region (Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, Serangoon)

Singapore's newest HDB towns, designed with integrated EV charging from the start. Newer carparks feature dedicated EV lots with Type 2 connectors.

North Region (Woodlands, Yishun, Sembawang, Ang Mo Kio)

Large HDB estates with comprehensive SP Mobility coverage. Woodlands serves as a charging stop for drivers heading to Johor Bahru via the Causeway.

West Region (Jurong, Clementi, Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang)

Jurong Lake District and NTU drive demand. Shell Recharge along the AYE offers DC fast charging, while HDB carparks provide affordable AC options.

Sentosa & Southern Islands

Resort and attraction carparks with premium pricing. VivoCity at Harbourfront is the best charging stop before crossing to Sentosa island.

Use the Cheapest Charger finder to compare prices across these regions, or browse dedicated pages for Jurong, Tampines, Woodlands, Central, Punggol, and Bedok.

Data Sources & Methodology

EV Charge Buddy aggregates charger data from multiple authoritative sources to ensure accuracy and completeness:

  • LTA DataMall — The Land Transport Authority's open data portal provides the official list of registered EV charging stations in Singapore, including location, operator, connector type, and power rating.
  • OneMap / SLA — The Singapore Land Authority's mapping platform powers our address search, geocoding, and map tiles. Postal code lookups use OneMap's authoritative database.
  • Operator feeds — Where available, we pull real-time availability status (available, in-use, offline) and pricing directly from charging network operators including SP Mobility, Shell Recharge, and Charge+.

Charger availability refreshes automatically every 30 seconds while the map is open. Pricing data is updated at least daily, though operators may change rates without notice. We recommend always verifying the final price on the charger's display or in the operator's app before starting a session. If you spot incorrect or outdated information, please contact us so we can correct it.
